Our Friendly Team

SPI Property Inspections was founded in 2002 and is jointly owned by Colin and Helen Legg. We have a solid track record, having carried out over 30,000 inspections and are experienced in residential and commercial building inspections.  

The SPI team are continually growing and comprises building inspectors across Melbourne and regional Victoria, as well as a friendly office team who manage the booking process, marketing and administrative functions. The sales and marketing team work in conjunction with our inspectors, providing our clients with honest and quality service.

Our current team of inspectors are all former or current builders, building inspectors and architects, who have all held positions of authority within the building industry prior to joining SPI. They are skilled at identifying issues and making decisions.

We also have several alliance partners including a pest inspector, plumbers, electricians and structural engineers to whom we outsource specific work, so that we can provide our clients with a one-stop-shop service.

SPI Property Inspections works with a number of rail and infrastructure project alliances across Greater Melbourne. We are a preferred supplier of the Level Crossing Removal Project and have undertaken dilapidation reports and street surveys for many of the level crossing works already completed throughout Melbourne. We have many current ongoing projects in this sector.

SPI Property Inspections is a member of the Master Builders’ Association Victoria and the Housing Industry Association (HIA), Australia’s largest and most respected housing industry organisation.
